Welcome to SKEALS
The Spurn, Kilnsea and Easington Area Local Studies group was formed in the summer of 2006.
It has a Management Committee of five people and about twenty active members.
The group’s aims are:
- To bring together people interested in local history, and support them in sharing their knowledge and ideas
- To encourage research and the collection and recording of information about the area
- To disseminate information via events, publications, a website, and any other means of communication
We are always engaging in new research to encourage the collection of both historical and contemporary information, and to help anyone interested in finding out more about the history of Easington, Kilnsea, Spurn Point and Out Newton.
The group visits local places and events together, holds talks by local guest speakers, attends local exhibitions across the area and holds our own exhibitions for special projects. You can be as involved as you choose to be! Simply attend meetings and talks or take on your own project! Please note, there is a small yearly subscription charge to cover administration overheads.

We meet at least six times a year, usually at the Community Centre or Youth Club in Easington. Look out for upcoming meetings in the Eastend News newsletter or on our Noticeboard.
