The last day of July 2010 saw the opening of the third exhibition organised by SKEALS. The exhibition, largely
the work of SKEALS' Vice Chairman, Mike Welton covered the 200 years history of lifeboats at Spurn.
In addition to a large number of photographs of lifeboats and crews from days gone by the exhibition also
showed off a superb model of a modern lifeboat and the old bell once used to summon the crew when a call came
in but now inverted and mounted on a stand and used as a font for christening which occasionally take place on the
lifeboat. This month our Gallery is devoted to the exhibition and some of the visitors.
