|
November 2012
A new article by Mike Welton, to commemorate a
major change at Spurn Point. After 201 years of lifeboat men and their
families living at the very tip of this remote peninsula.
The RNLI have decided to remove the families
from Spurn. The road access gets worse year by year, due to the ever
encroaching sea and wind blown sand that makes the road more and more
difficult to travel along. The Station is still fully operational, but
it now runs on a shift system.
