The above grave stone records a tragic event. The two little girls Grace and Lucy Cuthbert were the daughters of John and Miriam Cuthbert, John was the local miller who owned and ran the windmill at nearby Dimlington. His two daughters were playing in the mill one day, when one of them was caught in the mill stones her sister tried to save her, but unfortunately was also killed in the accident. |
